Everyone likes to go out, looking saucy. Not everyone likes the process of getting ready. But everyone has to though :p Here’s a thoroughly curated playlist for you to listen to while you go through the struggle of getting ready to go out.
When I get ready to think about getting ready to put together an outfit for the night, first thing I think about is my rings I want to wear. Each ring I have draws different energy. Normally people pick accessories last but I’m wacky; I like to pick my accessories first.
If I know I have to dress posh, like dressing in a double breasted 3 piece suit with my YSL’s, it takes nearly twice as long for me to get ready. I’m an impatient person yet this songs actually gets me in the right mindset to prep for a longer anticipated prep time.
Maybe you’re having a rough week and its been stressful, and you just need to get out and shake it off. This song motivates me to get up and get out and not let things get to me.
It has been over ten years since the release Jay-Z’s “Change Clothes” featuring Pharrell. The song still has a strong influence on hip-hop style. Jay-Z has a high fashion IQ and I enjoy the rhythm of this Pharrell produced beat.
Gucci Mane is a legend! He got me interested in wearing jewelry and inspired me to step up my accessory game…including my 1st Gucci belt. “If a man does not have sauce, then he is lost. But the same man can get lost in the sauce.” –I live by that.
I first heard this song when I was in Europe when Cozy Tapes 2 came out. I had this on repeat while going on a shopping spree. It definitely inspired my cozy look.
If I’m trying to go all out with my finest pieces of clothing all in 1 outfit, this song is going to play at some point during the process. I know its a bit overplayed but the playlist wouldnt be complete without it.
This song speaks to me because I have a pair of blue suedes and i wear them conservatively, usually when I’m steppin’ out or trying to dress to impress.
This whole album goes crazy but this song in specific fits this playlist best. I had to wait 1 week to see the Black Panther movie but they released the album the day I flew out to Scotland with some new drip on me. AND it just so happens to be the song I played while getting ready and before I interviewed the First Minister of Scotland.
It’s pretty self explanatory. Work hard, look good, play hard! One of my favorite songs off of this album and Kid Cudi’s hums send me to my happy place. A perfect song to sends me out the door, start my night, and end a playlist.
