This playlist was designed to help inspire you for your next flip submission or 8 bit style track as well as inspire you to further develop your sound design techniques.
This one goes out to all the Legend of Zelda die hards like myself; Lost Woods will always be favorite song from the series (Ocarina of Time is and always will be the best game in the series too don’t @ me) but Ephixa really knocked it out the park with this dubstep remix!
Next up we got the super nostalgic banger Boss Wave by Xilent, this track is super dope purely based on how well it captures the 8bit lead sounds.
I think its time we chill out a bit in the Pixel Forrest with the homie Virtual Riot after those last two tracks.
Geoxor really nailed the 8bit vibes on this one with that into lead arp.
Now we’re gonna take a hard left into that hipster rap/ frat rap era with one of my favorites from that time by KYLE – sex and super smash bros. cheesy video game rhymes and a nostalgic 8 bit beat? Sign me up!
Next on the list for my hip hop heads is this new one from Aminé. The beat itself isn’t super 8bit like but the lead melody is very digital sounding and very reminiscent of the 8 bit lead and thats why it made its way on here.
Now that we’ve completely transitioned into hip hop land the last song Im going to drop on this list is Guilt Trip By Kanye. This was one of my favorites off the Yeezus album because it was one of the first times I had ever heard a major hip hop artist use these types of sounds in their production and that totally blew me away at the time cause no one in the mainstream would have done that.
