I love to listen to Noise Rap when I’m needing a boost of energy or just want to hear something unconventional. Noise Rap, or Industrial Hip Hop, is a genre that combines elements of industrial music with hip hop to create a palette of abrasive sounds and textures which make for an unique listening experience. The genre emerged slowly but surely beginning in the late 80’s with Public Enemy’s unconventional use of noise and continued to evolve throughout the 90’s. However, the 2010’s saw the genre take on a new form with Death Grips, clipping, JPEGMAFIA and more rising to the forefront. Hopefully this playlist is able to give y’all a similar boost!
