Had to start the list off properly: Kali Uchis sampled this record several times. However, I’ve been slapping Delegation since I was a kid. It’s a beautifully composed record that will make you want to get up and two-step with your significant other.

This song frfr makes me want to hang with the homies and crack open a cold one, change my mind. Great for wrapping up the weekend.This record definitely hits different in the summer.

Y’all can’t slap a S.N.O (Sunday Night Oldies) playlist without this classic. You can play Tommy James when daylight savings is over, at Lake Merritt, in your whip if you got it like that.

This song reminds me of brisk evenings where I would watch my dad barbecue for the family after a long day. I’ve been a fan ever since, and if you don’t have any Persuaders in your playlist, you buggin’.

My moms put me on game playing Mary Wells when she was driving around the East Bay. This is the golden standard of ice cream parlor date music.

Eddie Holman is a straight up hidden gem. I never knew how he looked like, but that’s an incentive to look and listen, this man’s voice is angelic.

This song really puts me in a trance.  Starting off with a catchy piano section, Hello Stranger is a real mood changer; it feels like catching up with an old friend.

This is the type of music your parents tell you they had playing when they met. It does not matter if you listen to the English or the rare Spanish dub, just please hear this glorious song.

You might sound corny singing this to your main squeeze, but this song is quality. That’s really it. Good to play with your boo thang, or by yourself if you just want to feel good, hear some nice strings and synths.

This song feels like when I’m on the block getting some elotes and a car full of Chicanos driving an old school Chevrolet slides by blasting this.  On Fruitvale Blvd. While the sun sets. It feels like the end of a playlist 🙂
